 Ida Curriculum Council Agenda for March 2, 2023  

 

1.  District  

  • PE/Health-Jean Foster is hosting monthly brainstorm meetings to network with PE/Health teachers. Please contact Jean Foster from the ISD for the virtual meeting links.
  • Sexual Education Advisory Board Update
  • At the end of January middle and high school band members performed at the Solo and Ensemble festival in Livonia as both individual and small group competitions. When the day was done all of the events from Ida were awarded a first or second place finish. Special recognition to Tiernan Strimpel, Cole Brown, Bristal Calkins, and Elizabeth Rosas for receiving an excellent (second place) rating, Brynn Morelli, Andrew Huston, Liam Iott, and Lily Nowak for receiving a superior (first place) rating. Great job to everybody involved! Our 7th and 8th grade band students will be attending a festival tomorrow in Woodhaven, good luck to all who will be attending!

  • Knabusch Math and Science Center is offering field trip opportunities for classes. Contact Nicole Shaughnessy if interested.
  • MathCounts wrapped up their season in February
  • Quiz Bowl – Grade level competitions are running this week
  • Young Author Event is underway. Final writing pieces are due by March 22nd
  • PSAT/SAT Test Prep Session – March 4th  
  • Spelling Bee – Coming this spring, more details will be shared as they become available
