The original Ida High School was opened in 1907 and was an impressive sight. Its high bell tower could be seen through the trees anywhere in the village. Its ten large sunny classrooms were bright and airy and allowed for a greater division of classes and subjects. It started out as the high school and was later turned into the middle school when the new school (the current middle school) was built as a new high school. Then in 1946 the addition of what is the current high school started and when that was finished that turned into the new high school and the other high school was turned into the current middle school.
