Directions for Using AppleWorks
Word Processing and Painting

Goal:
To create a
cartoon strip using the paint tools within a word processing
document. This will be grade on your computer. Do not
print.
|
|
Directions:
- Go to AppleWorks: Word Processing:
O.K.
- Go to Window: Show ToolsTouch your
Paint Tool (Painter's palette)
- Drag a rectangle about a 1/3 of
your page
- Touch your rectangle with your
Arrow Tool (you will see four black boxes, one in each
corner)
- Go to Edit: Duplicate (until you
have 3 paint boxes)
- With your Arrow tool arrange your
three paint boxes so there are three in a row
- Now you are ready to begin
Painting your cartoon

Cartoon:

Frame #1: Create
a picture of a person, an animal, or an object in
this frame.

Frame #2: Using
your lasso, select part of your picture above, and
go to Edit: Copy
Next, go to Edit: Paste to paste the picture in
this frame.
Add other details you'd like to this frame.

Frame #3: Using
your lasso tool, copy and paste anything from the
first two frames that you'd like in the end of your
cartoon.
Put any final details you'd like in the cartoon
here.
