Project Description:

Career Pathways or Career Clusters are broad groupings of careers that share similar characteristics and whose employment requirements call for many common interests, strengths and competencies. Create a slide show that contains 10 slides. The first slide will be a title page. The rest of the slides will be informational slides about 9 different Career Clusters.

Directions:

Start AppleWorks: Presentation * Three complete sentences or 5 bulleted statements will be needed to describe the skills required on each slide in each given career pathway.

Setting up the Presentation: To create slides: if you do not see "Controls" open in your Presentation, go to Window: Show Presentation Controls. In the Control window, click on the Plus sign to add slides and click on the minus symbol to delete extra slides. To add text: click on the letter "A" in the toolbox and click and drag a text box to write in. You may change the font, size, and color by clicking on the text with your arrow and then going to Format on menu. You will find Font, Size, Style, Text Color and Alignment under Format. To add graphics: click on the "arrow" tool in the toolbox and go to the File menu and select Insert. Go to the destination where your graphics are. OR Click on File: Show Clippings to drag and drop pictures to your SlideShow (still use your arrow tool!). To get a graphic off the Internet (must receive permission first): go to the graphic, hold your mouse clicker down until the window appears and select Copy Image - go to your slideshow, select your arrow tool, then go to the Edit Menu and select Paste. OR You can also drag and drop images off the Net with your arrow tool. Remember to make a bullet in word processing hold the Option Key and type 8
