Directions for
Using AppleWorks Word Processing

Goal:
To create two different paragraphs on one page in a Word
Processing document with specific fonts, sizes, and
themes.

Paragraph
1 - Write about
something that you did that was great fun.
- Go to AppleWorks: Word
Processing: O.K.
- Go to Font:
Palatino
- Go to Size: 18
Point
- Click on the Left Alignment
control button
- Use single spacing
- Touch tab one time to indent
your first sentence
- Type at least five sentences
and at least 50 words. (see Edit, Writing Tools, and Word
Count)
- Center a Title and underline it
above your paragraph
- Use correct Capitalization and
Punctuation
- Go to Edit: Writing Tools:
Check Document Spelling

2 - Write about a wild
and crazy dream you had - Use the words wild and crazy in
your paragraph.
- Go to Font,
Helvetica
- Go to Size, 14
Point
- Repeat Directions numbered
5-10 above for this paragraph
- Choose 3 Adjectives
(describing words) in your paragraph: change their style
to Bold
- One by one, highlight each of
your 3 adjectives and do the following. . .
- Go to Edit: Writing Tools:
Thesaurus to replace the word with another descriptive
adjective
