Design,
develop and implement student learning
activities that integrate information
technology for a variety of student
grouping strategies and diverse student
populations.
|
I design and
integrate technology in most all learning
experiences. I effectively use many types
of application software and incorporate
technology in a variety of instructional
roles; visual facilitation, communication,
display data, etc. . I am able to adapt
lessons to differing levels of technology
and I vary the use of technology for
individual students. Lastly, I regularly
integrate state and/or national technology
standards for students in developing
instruction. (See

Identify
and apply resources for staying current in
applications of information technology in
education.
|
I feel that I have
reached Level 4 status in this standard
standard through my dedication to and
passion for technology. I regularly have
shared my knowledge and uses of technology
with others through conferences and
electronic postings. I participate in
professional organizations, such as MACUL
which deal with issues related to
instructional technology. I also
participate as a continual contributing
member in a professional dialog about
instructional technologies through a local
technology committee. I enjoy drawing
ideas and resources to enhance my teaching
and learning from conferences, Web sites,
educational forums, print publications,
newsgroups, and listserves. Finally, I
consistently seek out and evaluate new
technology applications and tools that can
be used in learning and teaching.

C
Demonstrate
knowledge and use of uses of multimedia,
hypermedia telecommunications, and
distance learning to support
teaching/learning.
|
As a technology
teacher, I use multimedia, hypermedia, and
telecommunications to expand learning
beyond the barriers of a normal classroom.
Within presentations and communications, I
commonly integrate text, tables, graphs,
drawings, diagrams, photographs,
animations, and/or video. I also maintain
various means of communication open to
students, parents, and colleagues
specifically through email, voice mail,
and web pages. Through my job
responsibilities, it is very common for me
to install, maintain, and upgrade
software, hardware, and/or any other
technology equipment in classrooms, labs,
or elsewhere in the building. I make
purchasing recommendations for school
evaluation based upon my knowledge and
understanding of technology. Further, as
technology is constantly changing and
improving, I accept the challenge of
teaching with two-way interactive video
distance learning. (See

Demonstrate
knowledge about and use of instructional
management resources that assist in such
activities as writing and updating
curriculum; creating lesson plans and
tests; and promoting, reinforcing, and
organizing data regarding student
performance.
|
I organize and
achieve professional work through my
advanced ability in using productivity
tools such as word processing and graphic
programs. In addition, I am able to use
specialized software including a concept
mapping application when appropriate to
achieve professional work. I CONSISTENTLY
move documents between software
applications and platforms. Because of my
commitment to technology, I regularly test
and evaluate new tools for enhancing
personal productivity and improving
classroom management. (See

Use
information technologies to support
student problem solving, data collection,
information management, communications,
presentations, and decision making
including word processing, database
management, spreadsheets and graphic
utilities.
|
My daily teaching
techniques and strategies used in the
classroom prove my proficiency in this
standard. As a classroom teacher, I use
instructional technology to help students
learn in unique ways. I always make an
effort to encourage and guide students as
they develop their own uses of
instructional technology in learning.
Encouraging peer learning to enhance
student capabilities is an essential
strategy needed in my computer lab as
there are 38 computer workstations and
only one of me! Lastly, I am not afraid to
facilitate students' use of technology
beyond my personal knowledge of the tools
and applications at hand. In this way, I
sometimes play a reversed role in the
classroom. (See
"E" Exhibits)

F
Demonstrate
appreciation of equity, ethical, legal,
social, physical, and psychological issues
concerning use of information
technology.
|
In my teaching, and
in my experiences as a student, I
acknowledge sources for materials and
ideas. I give credit where credit is due.
I provide opportunities for students to
learn about equitable, ethical, and legal
uses of technology in lessons and everyday
activities. My teaching style, planning,
and methods in the use of technology both
address individual needs of students and
consider access within and beyond school
in assignments. I have helped in my school
district to provide solutions that assist
in overcoming technology access problems.
I strive to guard safety and ensure
appropriate behavior of students using the
Internet and I utilize technology when it
actually enhances likelihood of
achievement of learning goals.

Use
information technology to enhance
continuing professional development as an
educator.
|
I feel that I have
experienced an overwhelming amount of
professional development as a teacher in
the last 5 years. I began as a half-time
Mathematics teacher, and now I serve as a
full time Technology Teacher and Building
Technology Coordinator. Not only do I
contribute regularly and actively to
different learning communities, but I also
draw quality ideas and resources from
these groups. I consistently seek out
professional development activities for my
own personal improvement. Acting as
building technology coordinator, I am able
to assist others in providing, locating,
scheduling, and participating in
professional development resources.
